Aoi standing on a display stand on a sunlit bedroom floor, toy blocks and books around her

Small toys.
Big fights.

A third-person arena shooter at toy scale. Four on four across a bedroom floor, a kitchen, a garage workbench and a park sandbox, with seven weapons, rocket jumps and nothing to buy.

Free early alpha for Windows 10 and 11.

Four fighters, one set of rules

Pick the look you like. Every fighter has the same health, speed and jump, so a win is down to how you play, not who you picked.

Pick your fighter and your team colours in the game. Other players see them in every match.

Three rooms and a park, fought from the floor

Everyday places at toy height. Books become forts, a cutting board becomes a bridge, the space under the workbench is where the close fights happen, and out in the park the sandbox is a crater.

Playground Panic: a sandbox with an upturned bucket, swings and a climbing arch in a sunny park

Playground Panic New

The first fight outdoors. Take the bucket in the middle of the sandbox, or flank by the swings and the boulder lookout.

Bedroom Blitz: a toy train, a block castle and book forts on a bedroom floor

Bedroom Blitz

Book Fort against Shoebox Fort. Hold the Block Castle, or flank by the train and the race track.

Kitchen Clash: cereal-box forts on a tiled kitchen floor

Kitchen Clash

Cereal-box forts on a tiled floor. Fight over the cutting-board bridge, or go round through the tins.

Garage Gauntlet: paint cans, crates and a workbench in a garage

Garage Gauntlet

Toolbox forts in a garage. Hold the workbench top, or brawl in the paint-can cave underneath.

Seven weapons, one per key

Everyone carries the full kit. Switch with the number keys, and pick the right tool for the range you're fighting at.

Modes

Team Takedown
Two teams of four race to 40 takedowns.
Free-for-All
Eight players, first to 20 wins.
Close Combat
Teams of four, knives only, first to 30.
  1. 1

    FANG

Combat knife. Charge a heavy lunge, and it gives you a double jump.

  2. 2

    ARC

Dependable full-auto rifle. Hold alt-fire to steady the spread.

  3. 3

    KICK

Pump shotgun. Brutal up close, and it reloads shell by shell.

  4. 4

    PIN

Bolt-action marksman rifle with a scope. Shots crack across the map.

  5. 5

    BELT

Belt-fed machine gun. Heavy, loud, and it doesn't stop.

  6. 6

    COMET

Rocket launcher. Big splash, or blast yourself up to the high ground.

  7. 7

    BUZZ

Compact SMG. Melts anyone up close, useless past mid range.

Join the alpha

It's free, and it's early: you'll find rough edges, and what you say after each match shapes what gets fixed next.

Create your account

Then play

  1. Download the launcher. It installs itself, fetches the game and keeps it up to date.
  2. Sign in with the account you just made.
  3. Press Play and find a match. If nobody's on yet, bots fill the empty seats.
Download for Windows

Windows will warn you. The installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC". Click More info, then Run anyway. The launcher installs to your own user folder and never asks for administrator rights.

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with a graphics card that runs DirectX 12 or Vulkan. About 160 MB.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. There's no shop and nothing to buy. Every fighter and every weapon is there from the start.

Why do I need an account?

Voltbox is played online. Your account keeps your skill rating, level and match history, and it lets us keep cheaters and bans attached to a person instead of a computer.

Can I play on my own?

Once you're signed in, Play has an offline practice mode against bots, and online matches fill any empty seats with bots too.

What about cheating?

The game servers decide every hit, every takedown and every score, and they check every move. Your computer only sends what you pressed. Cheaters get banned, and every ban is logged with who made it and why.

What's missing in the alpha?

If you drop out of a match, a bot takes your seat and you can't rejoin that one — press Play again for the next. There's no text or voice chat, no friends list and no parties yet. Two lobbies run right now, so at busy moments you may see "every lobby is full" for a minute.

Mac or Linux?

Windows only for now.

How do I delete my account?

Sign in on My account and delete it there. It's gone at once; past scoreboards keep the numbers without your name. The Privacy Policy says exactly what we keep.

I found a bug.

Rate the match on the results screen and tell us what happened — every note gets read. For anything else (a ban you want to appeal, an account problem), email miguel@19877.tech.
